On September 24th, 2024, my office become flooded with 5ft+ of water due to the effects of Hurricane Helene.  All paper records from the time I opened my practice in July 2010 through June 2019 were kept in a locked file cabinet that had been completely submerged by flood waters for a number of days.  Upon consultation with my professional liability insurance, I was informed of how to properly destroy and dispose of the damaged records in order to protect any and all identifying information contained within those records.  Those paper records were destroyed in October 2024 and the only records that remain are the ones located in a secure electronic health record that includes information from July 2019 through the present.  If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me via phone (828) 301-0770 or by email Adrienne.Maurin@gmail.com.  Thank you!
